Robert James "Be" Scofield is a spiritual activist, writer and founder of God Bless the Whole World, a free online resource with videos, audio, articles and courses about social transformation. He holds a B.A. in Psychology/Philosophy from Warren Wilson
College, has done graduate coursework in Postcolonial Anthropology and
is currently pursuing a Master's of Divinity at Starr King School for the Ministry in the
Unitarian Universalist tradition with an emphasis in women’s studies, counter oppression and sacred dance. He has participated in numerous internships, campaigns and movements for social justice including working with the Beloved Community Center during the first Truth and Reconciliation Commission in the U.S. and the Metta Center for Nonviolence. Be has led groups on white
privilege and institutional racism and has given lectures on Dr. King, Gandhi and nonviolence. He is the producer of "Dr. King: In His Own Words - War,
Peace & Poverty" an audio CD with selections from Dr. King's
speeches/sermons on war, capitalism, imperialism, nonviolence and
economic exploitation. The noted historian Howard Zinn called the cd
"Quite wonderful and truly inspiring." Be's writing has been published
in Tikkun Magazine where he currently blogs. His work has also been featured on the front page of Alternet.org and Integral World.
